Remodeling counts as an adventure

How many engineers does it take to operate a free blog?  I can't figure out how to line the pictures up where I want them, so I'm just dumping them in.
Brand new. Well, not brand new. Foreclosed and bank-owned, and new to us.

Tear out everything. Carpet, linoleum, hardwood floors. Clean everything. Paint everything. New carpet upstairs. Then move in.

Jam two cars, six bicycles and a motorcycle into a small garage.

New cabinets are in, along with some lights in the kitchen.  More pictures coming soon.

Fruita and Moab photos, March 28-29, 2009

Everyone bailed on a planned Fruita weekend, so James and I went anyway. We daytripped it to Moab on Saturday and rode Slickrock and Amasa Back.

Then we rode Steve's Loop and Mack Ridge on Sunday before heading home.

The Return of Helmet Cam

James and I did a great ride yesterday up Flagstaff Mountain above Boulder, to Walker Ranch. The motorcycling up and down that road may have been even more fun than the mountain biking. Lots of steep twists and turns and incredible views.

All the helmet cam videos didn't turn out because the camera was pointed a little too high for most of them.

Here are a couple that aren't too bad. (turn your volume down, lots of wind noise here!)

Glades at Beaver Creek

These glades are always full of deep, untracked snow. Flying through these aspens in full sunlight is totally awesome.

Too bad my friend Mike tore his ACL a few runs before this one. Get well soon!

Wreck!

I ran over a submerged rock in the Loveland backcountry yesterday and got flipped. The helmet cam sees the rock just as I'm trying to swerve around it.

Is this thing on? part 2: photos

Video test complete. The raw file played locally is better quality, but that wasn't bad.

Now I'm trying some photos. Here goes...

Some Bike-on-Bike action, courtesy of Cafe Motos and the Johnny Rack (not named after me, apparently). My bike is on the right, the rack inventor-and-fabricator's is on the left. We did a six-day trip with the bikes and bikes and it was a blast.

Here's a picture of JG railing through a corner somewhere near Silverton, CO.
This free blog deal is the coolest.

Is this thing on? helmet cam videos

Wow, my first blog. Let's see if the video footage from my new helmet cam (thanks, Mom!) shows up any better here than it does on Google video.
Here's some footage from the first time I used the camera, January 13, 2008. This is a run into Puma Bowl in the Outback at Keystone. Maybe 10 minutes' hike up the hill, then drop in to the south. That's my friend Jon riding with me.
